What is a Lemon RV?

A Lemon RV is an RV that is (1) covered by a warranty, (2) has one or more problems that substantially impairs the use, value, or safety of the vehicle to you, and (3) where the dealer has not fixed said problems within a reasonable number of changes or a reasonable amount of time.

Frequently Asked Questions

In the United States, there are several sets of laws that protect RV buyers if they purchase a “lemon.” The most prominent is the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (Federal Lemon Law). Additionally, most state Lemon laws will cover all of your RV except for the living and eating areas and equipment. State uniform commercial codes and Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices laws may also provide avenues of relief.

It depends on the problem. Some things should be fixed on the very first attempt but others might be more difficult and take two or three tries. If the problem does not get fixed fast enough or soon enough, then you can reach a point where you lose your confidence in the warranty or the ability of the dealer or manufacturer to live up to the warranty. When that happens, they may be in breach of your warranty.

In most states it can be as much as 4 years after you bought the RV. However, many RV warranties say your time limit is no more than 90 days after your warranty expires. Don’t wait. Check your RV warranty today.

Yes. Under the Federal RV Lemon Law, the Court can make the manufacturer pay your reasonable attorney fees and costs.

With a lawyer’s help you will almost always end up with more money in your pocket. With the right attorney, you can get even more. RV companies know which lawyers know RV law. They know which lawyers will take them to court and put up a fight. Those lawyers are the ones that RV companies fear the most and those lawyers are the ones who usually get the best results.

What Our Clients Say About Us

I could not find a law firm I was comfortable with to handle a RV case until I read about Burdge Law with a 10 out of 10 AVVO rating and a top BBB rating. I cannot say enough about Ron Burdge and his team. Everyone I worked with was knowledgeable, dedicated, timely and enjoyable to work with.

I would highly recommend Burge Law to solve your RV issue(s). They are very knowledge of the industry, and they really know consumer rights. From our first meeting, I felt comfortable they understood my concerns, and confident in their recommended game-plan! Through the entire process, Scarlett and her team did a fabulous job by communicating and explaining all the steps, and the final end results exceeded our expectations!

We had a lot of problems with our RV in the first year of purchase and Burdge Law Office negotiated with the manufacturer on our behalf and settled the issues in just a couple months. Communication was A+++! They are very honest and reliable – by far the best attorneys we have ever used!
